BluKey Firmware Update

Device firmware can be updated using the App in Operator Mode. This document outlines the process for updating BluKey firmware using the two methods available.

• Individual Device Update – view current/assigned firmware versions and start update by individual device.
• Maintenance Mode – initiate update for all devices in bluetooth range with an available update.

Individual Device Update Process

PayRange App must be in Operator Mode (view steps for toggling between Operator and Consumer Mode in the Operator and Consumer Modes section below)

1. Tap three dots in upper right corner 

2. 

3. Select Show Classic View

   Note: If App is already in Classic View, menu will say Show List View – tap 3 dots to close menu

4. 

5. Tap the flip icon (two curved arrows) in to flip machine card 

6. 

7. Select Update Firmware
   Device will connect and show progress 

8. 

9. Tap done when complete. For BluKey Pro devices (device ID’s 22xxxxxx), wait 15 seconds after update and power cycle the machine.

   Note: App will not immediately display Current Version as the updated version. To update the current version, connect to device by tapping Update Firmware again, or by sending payment.

Maintenance Mode Update Process

PayRange App must be in Operator Mode (view steps for toggling between Operator and Consumer Mode in the Operator and Consumer Modes section below)

1. Open the App menu by tapping the ☰ menu icon in upper left
   Select Maintenance, then tap on Firmware 

2. 

3. The number of nearby devices will be displayed
   Devices that have an update assigned will be automatically selected
   (Deselect by tapping checkbox for unwanted devices)

4. Tap Update Firmware to begin update

   Note: App will update devices consecutively. After a device completes update, if it takes more than 30 seconds to connect to the next device, tap Cancel then Retry.

5. After all devices have updated, tap Done. For BluKey Pro devices (device ID's 22xxxxxx), wait 15 seconds after update and power cycle the machine.

   Note: App will not immediately display Current Version as the updated version. To update the current version, connect to device by tapping Update Firmware again, or by sending payment.

Operator and Consumer Modes

1. Open the app menu by tapping the ☰ menu icon in the upper left corner
2. Tap the dropdown arrow to the right of the name 

3. 

4. Select the operator account for Operator Mode
   Select Consumer for Consumer Mode 

5.
